WW AW17

For Autumn Winter 2017 Phoebe English has explored themes of tyranny, fear, apathy, voice, courage, unity, repair and ultimately hope. Through the instigation of this collection of characters, a narrative is spun and played out within the beautiful Fitzrovia Chapel.

Presenting women as symbols of strength and resilience, our ‘heroines’ glorify a resistance. Adorned with decorative crowns and strewn with flora in collaboration with Maison de Fleurs.

We wish to portray and celebrate unity over division, and have explored this though colour sym- bolism and an accumulation of textures and textiles. Fabrics include trapped golden woven sequins, velvet, silks, tulle, bouclé wools and shirting cottons

Within this collection we present pieces from our third collaboration with British knit wear Heritage brand John Smedley. Twisted draped knit pieces are presented in both silk and felted merino.

This conversation between tyranny and unity aims to explore both the fragility and the strength of our times, through the use of sheer fabrics we implement bold silhouettes with delicate forms portraying a fragility.

Tyranny oppresses Fear divides Apathy rests
Voice calls Courage braves Unity binds

Repair cures Hope reigns

Me. You. Them. US.
