WW AW12

The AW12 collection is the first solo show for Phoebe English.

The collection illustrates Phoebe’s continuing exploration of the way surfaces speak against one another. Planes of shivering sand-washed viscose are draped and weighted down with bands of wet silk- screened gloss; damp latex is set against dense wool felt; sculptural heavy knits constructed from hundreds of pairs of tights are punctuated with sprays of broken rubber weave.

The collection is inspired by an interest in exploring how Phoebe chooses her clothes on a daily basis and the way in which she mixes textures for herself.

The exquisitely sombre sounds of ‘Sleep Paralysis’ were kindly lent to us by Gabriel Bruce.
