LAVENHAM COLLABORATION

We collaborated with Heritage British brand Lavenham. Known for its expertise in quilted outerwear, we were able to transfer our sustainable studio practices to the development of new Lavenham products.

Over a period of two years, we explored the potentials of using design to utilise their pre-consumer production offcuts as well as omitting and replacing synthetic garment content where possible.

We identified the potentials of the raw material physically surrounding the factory site in its rural location; the sheep. From here we explored if this British wool fibre could be used within the classic Lavenham quilted product as the inner wadding.

Joining with HD®️Wool’s, Woolkeepers®, who have created a ‘joined together certified traceable wool platform from farm gate to factory door.’ We were able to source a suitable British wool wadding made using traceable regional wool from the Borders of Scotland and South West England. We were able to use this as the inner wadding for our quilted garments, whilst using surplus and excess fabric stock, rooting the processing and pieces all in the UK.
